Event Overview
Being culturally competent in a diverse & inclusive workplace is an important issue that all employees in any organization need to understand. Today more and more organizations are creating cultures that support diversity and inclusion by respecting, developing and utilizing each employee’s differences to create an interpersonal strength and a competitive advantage. This one-hour workshop covers the fundamentals of a diverse and inclusive workplace. Discussions will include the importance of being culturally competent in a diverse and inclusive organization, how to work in an environment that supports a diverse workforce, how to avoid potential problems and how to develop one’s own strengths through cultural competency.

From Rte. 95 North or South take MA Exit 5 and turn left at the end of the exit ramp, proceed about 0.2 miles to the end of the street, turn right onto Rte. 152.Travel one mile on Rte. 152 then turn left onto Holden Street at the large green Holden Street sign. Go 0.9 miles to the end, then turn left on Rte. 123 (Pleasant Street). Go 0.3 miles to the second traffic light and turn right just after McDonalds. Go straight through the 4-way stop intersection, then go about 300 yards beyond to the first left turn and follow the twisting road into the Sensata parking lot. The business center is the 3-story glass building with three flag poles in front. You will see signs directing you where to park. |

Angela M. Callahan is Vice Chancellor for Talent and Chief Diversity Officer for the University of Mass Dartmouth. She owns PESSCE Unlimited, LLC, an Executive Coaching and Business Consulting practice. PESSCE offers Leadership Coaching, Transformational HR Best Practice Consultation including, Diversity and Inclusion Planning and Training, Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management engagement.
Callahan has a unique blend of human capital and organizational insight, people skills and tactical know-how that combine for delivery of exceptional personal coaching, training program design & delivery, and business consultation. Callahan is a Subject Matter Expert in Organizational Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent and Organizational Development. Callahan served as adjunct faculty for two of the Massachusetts Community Colleges, Bristol Community College and Cape Cod Community College. Callahan also previously served as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Phoenix where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Human Resources and Human Capital Management. Callahan was also a lead faculty delivering On-site Training for the Continuing Education Division for The Apollo Group, a division of the University of Phoenix.
