November 2019 Professional Development Event:
"Women in STEM: Overcoming Artificial Barriers & Exceeding Expectations"
HighRes BioSolutions
Date and Time
Tue, November 19, 2019
5:30 PM – 8:30 PM EST
5:30 PM – 8:30 PM EST
Join SWE Boston and HighRes BioSolutions for an evening discussing how to overcome barriers and exceed expectations in the workplace
Event Overview
From Automation Scientist and Engineer to her current position as Associate Director of Automation at Intellia Therapeutics, Olga Seltser will share her background, the influence for her to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering, and subsequently her transition into the field of lab automation. She will speak to working as a woman in STEM - science, engineering, technology, and math, and the multiple roadblocks and challenges that shaped her into the strong female professional that she is today. Olga will also showcase some of the workflows and integrated robotic systems that she has put together with multiple vendors. These platforms span the world of small molecules, next generation sequencing and CRISPR technology enabling high throughput and rapid turnaround times with minimal screening lab personnel at different organizations.
