Mary Pottle Scholarship for SWE Boston

Mary Pottle was the first recorded president of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Boston section, chartered in 1950, and passed away in the summer of 2021. SWE Boston was one of the original four sections of SWE, and still one of the largest sections today.
To honor Mary Pottle's memory and continue her mission of promoting human rights and SWE's mission of empowering women engineers, we are establishing a memorial scholarship fund to benefit women and students of marginalized genders pursuing degrees in STEM (science technology engineering mathematics). This fund will be an endowment that will benefit STEM students in Eastern Massachusetts for years to come.
We need your help. All donations to this fund will go directly to help students in STEM. SWE Boston stands behind supporting women in STEM and will match up to $12,500. Your donation will make twice the impact!
As you plan your year-end donations, please add SWE Boston to your list. In addition, please encourage your companies to make a donation or match your donation. There are multiple ways to contribute:

Subject: Help Raise Money for Students of Marginalized Genders in STEM
Dear [Employer],
I am [name] and I am a member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Boston professionals section. At SWE Boston, we seek to empower women engineers though professional development events, K-12 outreach, and making friendships outside of work.
While we have made some great strides, there's still a long way to go before gender equality in STEM.
We need your support to establish a new memorial scholarship in honor of our founder Mary Pottle who passed away last summer (2021). SWE was founded in 1950. SWE Boston was one of the first four sections of SWE, and still one of the largest sections today.
Would you consider donating $500 or matching donations to help us achieve our mission? This means a lot to SWE Boston, so SWE Boston is willing to match up to $12,500 in donations. Your donation can make twice the impact!
We greatly appreciate your donation, and it will be used to ease the burden of student loan debt for students of marginalized genders in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). To contribute, please visit our website at http://www.sweboston.org/mary-pottle-scholarship.html
With your donation, we’d be one step closer to gender parity and improving the lives of students in STEM!
Thank you,
