Jr. Tech Girls STEM Summit - 10/23/2022

This wonderful conference is back in person this year! SWE Boston will be running a Manufacturing Engineering career track where we introduce basic concepts by focusing on a fun, hands-on activity! We are looking for volunteers to help us either for half the day or the entire day while we run 5 workshops for high school girls to get them excited about STEM careers. Volunteers will help us set up and break down between workshop sessions, as well as help with troubleshooting during the activity. No prior engineering experience is required, we will train you prior to the conference! For those that volunteer all day, lunch will be provided. Email outreach@sweboston.org if interested.

Jr Tech Girls STEM Summit 2019

SWE volunteers Ellie Sanford, Gowri Dorairaju, Sarah Austerman and Christine Lai helped 300 high school girls learn about Manufacturing Engineering by guiding them through an "assembly line" style activity decorating and packaging "SWEet Swirls" and "SWEet Sprinkles" cookies!

 We are facilitating a 50-minute "Manufacturing Engineering" hands-on workshop throughout the day to 5 different sessions of high school girls. Students will be designing efficient processes for decorating and packaging cookies! Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Join us so we can continue to rack them up and get to a total of 120 points by the end of June!
