SWE Boston’s structure consists of an Executive Council and 3 Committees, which work together to plan the many programs we offer throughout the year and to tend to general SWE Boston business.

Anita Gajjala, President
Anita Gajjala is a technical consultant at MathWorks in Natick, MA, and holds degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University and Georgia Tech. She has been an active member of SWE Boston since joining the local chapter in 2012. Anita is excited for the opportunity to serve as the President, work with SWE Boston members, and get more girls interested in math, science, and engineering.
The President has the responsibilities of general supervision, direction, and control of the business affairs of the Section, and takes an active role in SWE Boston committees, programs, and activities. She organizes bi-monthly EC meetings and presides over all EC and general membership meetings.

Amy Fritz, 1st Vice President, Professional Development
Amy has been an active member of SWE Boston since 2013. She has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University and a MS in Systems Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. She currently works for The MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that operates research and development centers sponsored by the federal government, where she specializes in cooperative aircraft identification systems. Over the past couple of years, she has volunteered at SWE Boston’s booth at the FIRST Robotics Competition and coordinated multiple professional development meetings at MITRE. Amy is passionate about empowering women to succeed and is looking forward to working even more closely with SWE Boston members in her new role as SWE Boston’s Vice President for Professional Development for FY18

Kristine Murphy, 2nd Vice President
Kristine Murphy is a Systems Engineer at Raytheon in Woburn, MA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, and is on track to complete her Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University this fall. She became an active member with SWE Boston after returning from an overseas work assignment in 2014. She has helped to coordinate, lead and participate in many fun SWE Boston Outreach events, including the Mini-Maker Faire with Barnes and Noble, FIRST Robotics, and the Cambridge Science Festival to name a few. Kristine is passionate about community outreach and sharing the many opportunities in math, science, and engineering with people of all ages. She looks forward to the opportunity to expand her passion as the 2nd Vice President of Outreach.
The Second Vice President, as head of the K-12 Outreach Committee, oversees programs that inform women, their families, guidance counselors, and the public in general, of the qualifications and achievements of women engineers and the opportunities open to them. These programs include mentoring, science fairs, merit certificates, Girl Scouts, and the Speaker’s Bureau.

Emily Anderson is the Environmental, Health & Safety Leader at GE Healthcare in Westborough, MA. She has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University. Emily is excited for the opportunity to serve as the VP of Membership, to help SWE Boston members connect, network, and promote SWE. Emily is also the FY17 Membership Committee chair-elect for SWE. Emily enjoys yoga, baking, and craft projects.

Almas Talas, Treasurer
The Treasurer keeps a full and complete record of the Section's financial accounts, manages all funds of the Section, and prepares the annual financial report as required by the Society.

Tanvi Devimane, Recording Secretary
Tanvi holds a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from University of Massacusetts, Amherst and MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.Tanvi is passionate about encouraging young girls to become Engineers. Over the years she has represented Raytheon BBN Technologies at various outreach events organized by UMass, Amherst and other local Colleges. Tanvi enjoys traveling the world with her husband and son.

Section Representatives
The Section Representatives represent the Boston Section at all Council of Representatives and Regional Council meetings and votes for the Section on all Regional and Society ballots. She is the liaison between the Section membership, the Region, and the national organization.
