Essex STEM Night 2019
A night to inspire our next generation of engineers! We helped the Essex Elementary School students learn that with some creativity and perseverance, a simple circuit can be completed to light an LED. During the activity, some of the circuits didn't work at first- we showed the students that failure is a challenge, not a conclusion, and that it is a part of the engineering process. We tried again until the circuit was finally complete! We hope to have encouraged these bright, young minds that great things can happen when you don't give up!
Share your love of STEM and represent the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Boston at Essex Elementary STEM Night! SWE Boston will have a table set up to teach kids how to create their own light-up paper circuits. This is a simple activity but it teaches kids about basic circuits. No specific engineering knowledge required - we will train you before the fair begins. Dinner is included if you arrive early before 5pm.
