A Thirst Quenching Night Out – Wine Tasting in Waltham!

Bring your friends, colleagues, and other SWE members to join in wine tasting at Gordon's Fine Wine & Culinary Center in Waltham! Don’t know much about wine? Not sure where to begin? This one-session class will teach you how to assess like a pro while sampling major varietals and the countries that they come from in an entertaining, interactive setting. You’ll taste six major varietals of the wine world, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Pinot Noir from the largest wine-producing countries. By assessing the wines and smelling them side-by-side with “scent cues”, such as oils from perfumers, you’ll learn to identify basic elements of a wine including tannin, acidity, how to describe different tasting characteristics.

Before becoming Director of the Culinary Center, Lindsay was managing between the two Best Cellars stores in Boston. Upon graduation from the Cornell Hotel School in 2005, she had moved to Boston to work for Hilton. After completing the sales management training program, she decided to leave the corporate hotel world and switch to wine. She now oversees and occasionally conducts classes, seminars, and private events at Gordon’s, as well as handles the marketing for them.
